NGO offers ray of hope to women

Minority community women busy stitching clothes at Khak-e-Taiba Rozghar centre in Karimnagar on Tuesday.- Photo. Thakur Ajay Pal Singh

The Khak-e-Taiba Rozghar centre, a voluntary organisation from Hyderabad, which is spearheading the movement for women empowerment by providing them job opportunities in tailoring, opened its four branch in Karimnagar town on Tuesday.

Khak-e-Taiba is providing juki machines for womenfolk to stitch ready-mades and earn a livelihood. The voluntary organisation secures orders from various garment companies and provides employment to local women. The fourth unit of job centre was inaugurated at Naka crossroads at Kharkhanagadda in Karimnagar town on Tuesday.

Local corporator Md Areef, philanthropist Shaik Abubakar, district women empowerment officer Uma Devi, ED Minority Finance Corporation Abdul Hameed, former Deputy Mayor Md Sami and others were also present at the inauguration of the centre.

There are two other rozghar centres in Karimnagar of the voluntary organisation and another one in Manakondur mandal. The voluntary organisation had also announced opening up of fifth centre in Rekurthi village on the outskirts of Karimnagar town very soon.
