Mancherial and Nirmal towns in Adilabad district on Monday welcomed the proposal to form Kumram Bheem Mancherial and Nirmal districts, the notification for which was issued during the day. Housing Minister A. Indrakaran Reddy was given a rousing reception by his supporters at the Soan bridge on river Godavari on the borders of this district with Nizamabad.
A rally was taken out, led by 1,000 motorcycles from the bridge to the Minister’s house and later within the town. The image of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on a banner was bathed in milk as a measure of gratitude for declaring Nirmal as a district. At Mancherial, TRS supporter burst firecrackers and also took out a rally from Municipal office to IB chowrasta. Cultural troupes sang and danced at the venue and women played Bathukamma.
Municipal chairperson M. Vasundhara led the celebrations. Government Whip Nallala Odelu and Sirpur MLA Koneru Konappa were also present.
