Need for five-year course in Telugu stressed

P. Kanakaiah, Principal, University College, in Telangana University opined that there was a need to introduce the five-year integrated post graduation course in Telugu in view of the increasing interest among students to study the language in the State.

Presiding over the function organised in connection with the World Teachers’ Day at the varsity campus by the Centre of Telugu Studies, on Monday, the senior Telugu professor expressed pleasure at the serious study undertaken by students of his department. He suggested to them to study the subject in an innovative way.

The academics of the department Lavanya, Triveni, G. Bala Srinivasa Moorthy and Lakshmana Chakravarthy spoke about the importance of teachers in the society. They asked students to remember the teachers who influenced them and guided them to go in right direction.

Assistant professor of economics K. Ravinder Reddy and other teachers Punnaiah and Venkateswarlu also spoke.
