Nalgonda officials pitch for inclusion of Gajwel in Yadadri district

May 27, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 05:42 am IST - NALGONDA:

The district administration has decided to recommend to the State government to include Gajwel Assembly constituency in the proposed Yadadri district, given its proximity to Alair and Bhongir constituencies.

A highly-placed source told The Hindu that officials have prepared a report on recommending the State government to form Yadadri district by including Alair and Bhongir Assembly constituencies from Nalgonda district, Janagon from Warangal district, Gajwel from Medak district and Uppal from Ranga Reddy district.

With the government issuing guidelines asking the district officials to include four to five Assembly constituencies to form a new district, they have included all the four neighbouring constituencies to Alair constituency where Yadagirigutta temple town is located, the sources informed.

Since the Chief Minister has taken the responsibility of developing Sri Lakshminarasimha Swamy temple on the lines of Sri Venkateshwara Swamy temple in Tirumala, he might as well agree with the idea, the officials feel.

A TRS leader from Yadagirigutta also observed that the merger of Gajwel constituency with Yadadri district would help them to strengthen the party base here apart from completing the temple development work on a brisk pace.

However, according to initial proposals, the State government is considering making Gajwel constituency part of the proposed Siddipet district.
