With the State Government planning to carve out Sircilla albeit Rajanna district by including the historic Sri Raja Rajeshwara Swamy Devasthanam of Vemulawada, the real estate business is reaching unprecedented levels in both Sircilla and Vemulawada towns.

The realty business has actually picked up in these regions with the land oustees of the Mid-Manair Dam (MMD) reservoir purchasing lands in these two mandals since the last few years. The government had also constructed relief and rehabilitation colonies for the land oustees on the outskirts of these towns.

Another boost was when Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao announced constitution of Vemulawada Temple Development Authority (VTDA) for the development of temple town. The formation of Rajanna district with Sircilla as district headquarters would make Sircilla and Vemulawada into twin cities with new colonies expected to come up along the 12 kilometers distance between the two towns. “No one is presently ready to sell land in both towns once the Government’s plan to carve out the new Rajanna district became public as they expecting a price escalation,” said Chandrashekhar of Vemulawada.

Jayaananda constructions owner Anand Rao said that the real estate business had come to stagnation in the Sircilla and Vemulawada regions following the MMD project oustees already purchasing land. Interestingly, real estate business had literally come down in Karimnagar town following the new districts proposals, he added.
