Karimnagar has turned into ‘Crimenagar’: Lok Satta

April 21, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 05:47 am IST - KARIMNAGAR:

Karimnagar district, which was the epicentre of the Telangana statehood movement, has now turned into ‘Crimenagar’ due to various incidences of crime in the recent past, alleged the Lok Satta udyama samstha Karimnagar district unit.

Expressing concern over branding of orphans with hot spoon by the caretakers of Sishu Gruha in Karimnagar town, Lok Satta district president N. Srinivas and general secretary Prakash Holla demanded the suspension of ICDS project director Mohan Reddy for negligence of his duties when the incident took place on April 15.

The government, which has failed to take action against errant police, revenue, registration, treasury officials and sarpanches involved in the swindling of public money, should not excuse the people involved in the branding of orphans, they said.
