Haritha Haram: three suspended for dereliction of duty

July 26, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 05:57 am IST - NIZAMABAD:

Collector Yogitha Rana has suspended two field assistants and one technical assistant of the Employment Guaranty Scheme [EGS] for their dereliction of duty in mobilising coolies for arranging fencing around saplings planted under the Haritha Haram programme.

Show cause notice

In an official press release, here on Monday, she informed that show cause notice was also issued to the assistant project officer. After visiting several mandals to inspect the arrangements for fencing, the Project Director, DRDA brought the negligence of the employees to the notice of the Collector.

Ms. Rana, meanwhile, said that the administration focussed special attention on 13 mandals which were lagging behind in planting the saplings under the THH programme.

Teak stumps would be supplied to those villages which could not fulfil the target of planting 40,000 saplings, she said.

She said that Balkonda, Biknoor, Domakonda, Jukkal, Lingampet, Madnoor, Renjal, Makloor, Nagireddipet, Nandipet, Navipet, Sirikonda and Yedapally mandals showed sluggish performance in the implementation of the programme.

A special meeting would be held with gram panchayat officers and sector officers tomorrow to seek suggestions for fulfilling the targets, she added.

One lakh teak stumps being received would be deployed to 10 mandals, she said.
