The traffic police in the district headquarters town took to ‘Gandhigiri’ to sensitise two-wheeler users to wear helmet without fail to protect themselves from road accidents. As part of the effort, traffic cops are stopping bike riders who are found not wearing a helmet and garlanding them. “We believe it would go a long way in creating awareness among people on the road safety. However, the ‘Gandhigiri’ will be shown just for a few days and later we will impose penalties as per the law,” say the cops.

However, the traffic police, in a way stole the show by attracting the attention of passersby and vehicle users at the NTR Chowrasta, one of the main junctions in the town.
