Expedite water grid works: Smita Sabharwal

Additional Chief Secretary in the Chief Minister’s Office Smita Sabharwal has asked the officials of the Irrigation, Panchayat Raj and other allied departments to work in tandem to ensure speedy execution of the works initiated under the Telangana Drinking Water Supply Project (TDWSP-Water Grid) scheme in strict compliance with stipulated quality standards.

Ms Sabharwal, accompanied by Collector D S Lokesh Kumar and other officials, conducted a whirlwind tour of the sites where the water grid works were in progress in Wajedu, Dummugudem, Aswapuram and Wyra mandals on Wednesday. She arrived at the remote Pusuru village in Wajedu mandal in a helicopter earlier in the day. She inspected the ongoing works on the intake well and filter bed on the bank of the Godavari near Pusuru, sources said.
