Adilabad Collector M. Jagan Mohan asked the authorities of Rajiv Vidya Mission (RVM) to ensure completion of toilet construction and availability of drinking water in all schools during the current year.

He said that in case there is a shortage of funds, the works could be completed with funds from the 14th Finance Commission allocation.

Reviewing basic amenities in schools in the district on Friday, the Collector sought a status report on the number of schools which still do not have toilets or drinking water facility.

Maintenance

He also talked of maintenance of toilets, which needs to be a joint effort of the gram panchayat, parents, teachers, and vidya committee members.
