Show-cause notices to officials

February 01, 2017 12:54 am | Updated 12:54 am IST - KARIMNAGAR:

Expressing his ire at the slow progress of construction of Individual Sanitary Latrines (ISL) in the Huzurabad mandal, District Collector Sarfaraz Ahmed instructed the officials concerned to issue show-cause notices to DRDA Assistant project manager Tiruapathi, Huzurabad Tahsildar Jagath Singh and MPDO Ushasri.

At a review meeting on the progress of construction of ISLs to declare the district as Open defecation free in Karimnagar town on Tuesday, the Collector was shocked over non-entry of the completion of construction of 633 ISLs in the Huzurabad through online. He also expressed concern over non-release of funds to the villages in spite of sanctioning funds of Rs 154 lakh for the construction of ISLs in the villages.

Minister for Finance and Civil Supplies Etala Rajender had also reviewed about the progress of construction of ISLs in the Huzurabad mandal, but the progress was very slow, the Collector said and warned the officials of suspension if they do not mend their ways. He instructed the officials to upload all the details of all completed ISLs by Wednesday evening or else he would take serious action.

He instructed the mandal level officials to conduct coordination committee meetings at the MPDO offices everyday in the evening and review the progress of the constructions. DRDO Venkateshwar Rao, SE (RWS) Prakash Rao, DPO Narayana Rao and others were also present.
