Workshop held

A workshop on 'recent advances in stainless steel was organised by the Indian Institute of Metals (IIM) Salem and Kalpakkam Chapters at Salem Steel Plant (SSP) premises here on Friday.

Raman, Executive Director of Salem Steel Plant and Chairman of the IIM, Salem Chapter, in his presidential address, spoke about the versatility of stainless steel, which is used to produce needles to outer space equipment.

The advances in stainless steel would be useful to both industrialists and academics, he added.
