Residents threaten poll boycott

Residents of Vannathipatty village at Pennagaram near here have threatened to boycott local body polls demanding road facility. Barely hours after the announcement of the dates for the polls, the villagers in Mankarai Panchayat here have declared poll boycott, in protest against non-laying of road. The residents have alleged that the road was promised before the last local body elections, but was never laid.
