Vasan seeks resolution on check dam issue

Tamil Manila Congress president G.K.Vasan on Thursday demanded that the Tamil Nadu assembly pass a resolution against Andhra Pradesh government’s attempt to raise the height of the check dam across Palar river.

In this regard, the Union government should also act without bias, Mr. Vasan said.

Speaking to the press before participating in a party consultative meeting here, Mr. Vasan referred to the deficit budget of the State for 2016-17 fiscal. Yet, the government made several infrastructure announcements to the tune of Rs.300 crore. “How will the government find the means to implement these announcements? he asked.

There should be a time-limit before which the announcements made in assembly are fulfilled, he said.

He also wanted the government to waive education and farm loans.
