The Department of Employment and Training teamed up with Sathyamangalam-based Sudar, an NGO, for conducting an awareness program for students on Kadambur hills last week on career avenues in government departments.

Students belonging to tribal communities were exposed to the methodology of preparing for competitive examinations and the techniques of writing by the District Employment Officer T. Subramanian and District Employment Officer - Youth Employment Program S. Vinod.

About 30 students of Kadambur, Karalayam, Kottamalam, Gundri, Pavalakuttai and other villages took part in the programme at Kadambur Government Higher Secondary School, Director of Sudar S.C. Nataraj said.

The students were invited by officials to derive utility of the free training programs offered at the District Employment Office.

A similar programme was conducted earlier at the Government Residential School in Hasanur.
