Training of officials begins

Subordinate officials should be thorough with government rules and regulations for effectively serving society, said V. Sampath, District Collector.

The government employees should not leave any stone unturned to update their knowledge. This will go a long way in establishing themselves in their workplaces and live up to the expectations of their superiors, said Mr. Sampath while speaking at the inaugural of the five-day refresher course for assistants and junior assistants of the various government departments at the office of the joint director of agriculture here on Monday.

The training programme is being organised by the Personnel and Administrative Reforms Department.

Mr. Sampath said that former government officials will impart training to the participants on Tamil Nadu Government Employees Conduct Rules; preparation of the selected list; public relations; office procedures; writing draft letters; and Tamil Nadu Pension Rules 1978.

The resource persons will delivers lectures so that they could explain the salient features of the rules and regulations in a simple manner, he said and called upon them to take full advantage of the same. The trained staff should share the knowledge they gained with other staff in their departments, Mr. Sampath said.

Thangaraj, former District Revenue Officer, Rajamanikkam, former Deputy Collector, are the resource persons.

The refresher course will be continued till August 21.
