Town and muffusil buses of TNSTC to various destinations from Nagercoil, Kanniyakumari and other important towns began operating late on Saturday morning.

As a precautionary measure to avoid untoward incidents in view of the murder of Hindu Munnani functionary in Coimbatore, the buses were operated only after 7 a.m. from various depots.

TNSTC sources said that all the buses which hitherto halted at roadside bus stands in remote villages during nights were brought to the concerned depots before 9 p.m. on Friday.

As buses started operating only around 7 a.m. on Saturday, commuters faced some hardship.
