Special camps were organised in 1,559 polling booths across the district for enrolment of new voters and making corrections in the electoral roll on Sunday.

District Revenue Officer S. Murugaiah inspected the proceedings in some polling booths at Tuticorin, Tharuvaikulam, Kulathur, Keela Eral and Eppodum Vendran. The district has a total electorate of 13,39,354.

During the special camps for voters organised on September 20, a total of 9, 719 forms were received, said A.N.S. Nellai Nayagam, Tahsildar (Election).
