SETC driver’s house burgled

Burglars have stolen gold ornaments worth Rs. 3 lakh from the house of State Express Transport Corporation bus driver at V.M. Chathram. The police said Ramachandran (55) of Tamil Nadu Housing Board Colony in V.M. Chathram near here and his family members had gone to Kurangani near Eral to participate in the temple festival. When they returned home on Wednesday, they found that burglars, after breaking the main door of the house, had stolen 12 sovereigns of gold ornaments and Rs. 5,000 in cash from the chest. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime and Traffic) Rajan visited the spot. The Palayamkottai police have registered a case.
