Schoolchildren celebrate Holi

The kindergarten and primary class children of Bharat Montessori Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Ilanji, celebrated ‘Holi’, the festival of colours, recently.

The teachers played an active part along with the kids.

The children sprayed harmless coloured water on one another and spread the message of happiness.

An eco-friendly environment was created. Correspondent A. Mohanakrishnan, Senior Principal M. Kanthimathi and Principal Usha Ramesh participated in the celebrations.

Conference

The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering of V.V. College of Engineering, Thisaiyanvilai, organised a one-day conference on ‘Power and Energy’, recently. R. Radhakrishnan, Senior Scientist, ISRO Propulsion Complex, Mahendragiri, explained the working principles and applications of electrical machines, harmonics and reducing harmonics through some control strategies etc. Students from various colleges participated in the conference.

Recruitment

Sutherland Global Services, Chennai, visited Francis Xavier Engineering College in Palayamkottai for the recruitment of 2015 - 2016 batch students of the SCAD Group of Institutions.

Around 400 engineering students from the SCAD Group of Institutions participated in this drive. The recruitment process included a written test, group discussion and a telephonic interview.

At the end of the drive, 12 students received their offer letters.

Graduation Day

The 13th graduation day of SXCCE was held recently. Bishop of Kuzhithurai Diocese and College Chairman V. Jerome Dhas presided over the function.

The Bishop gave away degree and credentials to the students.

Anna University rankholders were honoured by S. Aarthi Rani, Senior Consultant, TCS, Chennai.

Correspondent Fr. M. Maria William welcomed the gathering. Dr. Joseph Sekhar, Principal, spoke.

Bursar Fr. P. Benziger gave away degree, diploma and credentials to MCA and MBA graduates.
