PMK candidate Tirupathi Reddiar joins AIADMK

May 13, 2016 04:04 pm | Updated 04:43 pm IST - Tirunelveli (TN)

In an embarrassment to the Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) ahead of the May 16 Assembly polls, its candidate for Nanguneri constituency, Tirupathi Reddiar joined the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) in the presence of its senior party leader Nainar Nagendran.

Political observers feel that the PMK candidate joining the AIADMK may not have any impact on the outcome, as the list of candidates had been finalised.

Nainar Nagendran had been instrumental in pulling the PMK candidate to his side to ensure the victory of AIADMK candidate Vijayakumar contesting from Nanguneri, party sources said.
