Plea to close IMFL outlets

August 18, 2015 12:00 am | Updated March 29, 2016 03:57 pm IST - RAMANATHAPURAM:

Social Democratic Party of India’s (SDPI) women’s wing has urged the district administration to order immediate closure of Tasmac-run IMFL retail outlets at Nattarvalasai in Azhagankulam panchayat.

In a petition submitted to Collector K. Nanthakumar here on Monday, the members of the wing said that those visiting the liquor shops caused disturbance to the public in general and students and women in particular as they were located near a school and place of worship.

The residents had been demanding the closure of those shops for long and presented numerous petitions to the authorities but no action was taken, they said.
