New Commissioner promises to streamline water supply

The new Corporation Commissioner, K. Rajamani, who assumed office here on Friday, has promised to improve drinking water supply and execute schemes that would strengthen basic amenities.

Speaking to reporters after assuming office, Mr. Rajamani said all basic needs of the residents, including drinking water, roads and sanitation, would be taken care of in a better and planned manner.

After working with the Department of Rural Development for more than 22 years, Mr. Rajamani entered the Indian Administrative Service three months ago .

He was then posted as the Sub-Collector, Dharapuram. He has now been posted as the Commissioner of Thoothukudi Corporation.
