Nalini Sriharan, one of the life convicts in the Rajiv Gandhi assassination case, underwent medical check-up at the Government Vellore Medical College Hospital (GVMCH) on Thursday.

Doctors said she was treated as an outpatient, and was checked by doctors of the general medicine department. “She came to the hospital for a general medical check up. Last week, a cardiologist and neurologist went to the prison (Special Prison for Women, Vellore) to examine her. Blood samples were also taken for testing,” a hospital authority said.

However, further details of her health status were not disclosed. Her advocates said she has not been keeping well since she returned from Chennai. She was granted one-day parole to attend her father’s memorial prayer in Chennai on March 9.
