The Mahila Court here awarded double life sentence to K Palanivel alias Velusamy (30) of Uluppagudi in Natham block in a murder case on Friday. Palanivel married Parameswari (20) in 2010. After a few months, Parmeswari left her husband owing to domestic dispute and lived with her mother.
Palanivel attacked his wife Parameswari and her mother Santha while they were grazing goat near a tank in 2012. Santha died on the spot and Parameswari was grievously injured. Acting on a complaint lodged by Parameswari, Natham police arrested Palanivel and produced him before the court.
