Man arrested

A chicken shop owner was arrested for assaulting a customer in Mettur here in the late hours on Friday. Kumaravel (43) of Mettur was running a chicken shop in railway station area. At 10 p.m. Madhi alias Rajini (32) came to the shop and asked for chicken. But Kumaravel refused to give. This led to an altercation between the two and Kumaravel assaulted Rajini with a knife. Rajini suffered serious injuries and was admitted to Government Hospital in Mettur. Based on a complaint, the Karumalai Koodal police registered a case and arrested Kumaravel.

Money seized

In Namakkal, Members of flying squad seized Rs. 3 lakh from a worker of a private industrial unit in Tiruchengode here on Saturday. The officials intercepted a two-wheeler and found the cash in it. Since, the motorist could not produce any valid documents, the cash was seized.
