The Kanyakumari District Rail Users’ Association (KDRUA) urged the State government to go for joint venture with the Union Railway Ministry, as it would help speedy implementation of pending railway projects in the State.
In an e-mail appeal to the Chief Minister’s Cell, P. Edward Jeni said that except for Tamil Nadu, a few other States in the country were getting umpteen railway projects. The Railway Ministry established joint venture projects with the neighbouring Kerala and Andhra Pradesh for speedy implementation. Recently, the ministry signed a MoU with Odhisha and Maharashtra.
