Decomposed body of woman found

March 25, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 05:48 am IST - Tirunelveli:

The decomposed body of an unidentified woman, aged about 35 years, was recovered from a farm near Sivagiri in the district on Thursday.

When farmer Natarajan of Thenmalai near Sivagiri went to his mango grove on Wednesday evening, unbearable stench was emanating from a huge flex banner dumped in the farm.

He found that a body had been wrapped inside the flex banner.

Alerted by Mr. Natarajan, Sivagiri police visited the spot on Thursday morning, retrieved the body, and sent it to hospital for post-mortem.

The police, who have registered a case in this connection, suspect it to be a case of rape and murder.

Further investigation is on.
