Committee to create awareness on new revenue district

The Special Coordination Committee for the creation of a new revenue district with Attur as headquarters has decided to launch various activities to create awareness among people for its demand.

A meeting of the committee held at Attur on Sunday discussed in detail the need to create a new revenue district for the overall development of Attur town and the surrounding areas. The organisers decided to launch activities such as signature campaign, distribution of awareness pamphlets, and sending e-mail messages to Chief Minister’s special cell.

The grama sabha meetings scheduled in all village panchayats in Attur taluk on August 15 should adopt resolution urging the State Government to concede the long-pending demand of people of creating a new Attur district.

The meeting also adopted a resolution urging all the organisations and NGOs to adopt resolution in their next meeting favouring Attur district. The representatives of various political parties, voluntary and service organisations, traders bodies, industrialists participated in the meeting.
