A patient, who was undergoing treatment in the Tuticorin Medical College Hospital for chest pain, allegedly committed suicide. Police said S. Rajamani (65), a widower from A. Kumarapuram near Vilaaththikulam in the district had been admitted to the Tuticorin Medical College Hospital after he complained of chest pain recently. As his married sons did not visit him even as he was undergoing treatment, Rajamani allegedly hanged himself in the toilet in the third floor of the TMCH on Wednesday night. The matter came to light only on Thursday morning.

Tuticorin South police have registered a case.
