Commissioner inspects accident-prone spots

City Police Commissioner Sanjay Kumar inspected the different accident prone spots on the national highways in the city limits to take steps for checking accident rate.

Programmes

The Centre has sanctioned Rs. 11,000 crores for implementing various programmes for checking the accident rate on the national highways. Mr. Sanjay Kumar, to identify the various accident prone spots on the national highways and take effective steps to check the same, inspected Erumapalayam, Sanniyasikundu, Udaiyampatti, Neikarapatti, Ariynaur road junctions, Masinayakkanpatti fly over, the national highway stretch from Seelanayakkanpatti to Kondalampatti on Saturday.

He was accompanied by the senior police officials.

Accident rates

The police will take initiative to bring down the accident rates in all these areas shortly, according to city police sources.
