Class VIII student stabbed to death in Aruppukottai

A Class VIII student was stabbed to death in his school at Pandalkudi in Aruppukottai on Friday morning.

The victim, G. Baskaran (13) was in his classroom at the Government High School in Pandalkudi when he was attacked by a knife-wielding assailant. He suffered injuries on his face and head. He died on the way to the Aruppokottai government hospital.

Tension prevailed outside the hospital after the relatives of the deceased boy blocked the road for 15 minutes. They demanded that the accused be arrested at once. Family members further said that the boy was quiet and shy. They were unaware of the motive behind the murder.

The Pandalkudi police have registered a case of murder and are investigating.
