The water would be supplied through six channels – Patthakudi, Nallenzhundhur, Mathur, Saervari, and Ambaragarathur channels to benefit “samba” farmers. The water would be supplied for irrigation as and when realised from Mettur, an official source told The Hindu .

L. Mohamed Mansoor, Additional Collector, P. Ramadasse, Executive Engineer (Irrigation and Public Health), A. Rajasekaran, Executive Engineer (Buildings and Roads), and V. Shanmugasundaram, Superintending Engineer, were present.
