A government jeep driver, who abused District Collector in an inebriated state, was arrested here in Harur on Thursday.

The jeep driver of Morappur BDO’s office Ramajayam (41) was reportedly under the influence of alcohol, when the District Collector, K.Vivekanandan, stepped out of a meeting at the BDO’s office in Harur. The driver abused the Collector much to the shock of others standing there. The man was arrested under three sections, including usage of obscene language and issuing a threat of murder among others, based on a complaint lodged by Harur BDO.
