Arrest warrant to 6 accused in Pasupathi murder case

Principal District Judge R. Poornima on Thursday issued warrant to six accused who failed to appear before the court in connection with the murder of C. Pasupathi Pandian, founder of Federation of Devendrakula Vellalars, and adjourned the case till August 16.

Amid tight security, nine of the 15 accused, including prime accused Subhash Pannaiyar, appeared before the court in the morning. One among them, Rajesh, was brought from Palayamkottai Central Prison and produced before the court. The others – Shanmuga Sundaram, Arul Anandam, Nirmala, Nattu alias Natarajan, Dhara Singh, Innasi Chinnappa and Arulmozhi – were already present in the court.

However, six others accused in the case – Antony, Anand, Arul alias Kozhi Arul, Ramesh, Madasamy and Prabhu – did not appear before the court.

The judge issued arrest warrant to the six, and advised police to produce them before the court during the next hearing.

She had issued warrant to five accused in the last hearing.

Of the 18 accused in the murder case, three were murdered.

Pura Pandi was murdered three years ago, Muthupandi was murdered at Sri Kallazhagar Temple in Azhagarkovil area two years ago and Samy alias Arumugasamy was murdered by a gang at his native village in Thoothukudi recently.

Subhash Pannaiyar surrendered before the Dindigul Court on December 18, 2014.
