The 13th State-level conference of All India Trade Union Congress’ transport wing commenced here on Tuesday with a rally taken out by the cadres from various parts of Tamil Nadu.

Led by general secretary J. Lakshmanan, the participants took out a rally from Lourdhunathan Statue in Palayamkottai to Jawahar Ground via South Bazaar. A public meeting was organised at the Jawahar Ground in the night. After the representatives’ meet scheduled to be held on Wednesday (July 20), new president of the transport wing and various committees will be selected and detailed discussion conducted on the report to be tabled by the present office-bearers. The new office-bearers will assume office on the last day of the conference i.e. on Thursday (July 21).
