Advocates block road

Members of Bar Associations from Marthandam, Kuzhithurai, Eraniel, Thuckalay and Nagercoil blocked the national highway in front of the Collectorate here on Monday, demanding the arrest of the accused involved in the attack on advocate Rajesh Kumar practising in Kuzhithurai court.

Due to the blockade, the vehicles going to Thiruvananthapuram were diverted to Duthi School Road, Vetoornimadam, and the incoming vehicles diverted via Vetoornimadam from Parvathipuram. Traffic on the Thiruvananthapuram NH was affected for over an hour.

Later, the office-bearers of the associations submitted a memorandum to Collector Sajjansingh R. Chavan.
