Prohibitory orders in Ranchi

Prohibitory orders under Section 144 Cr.PC have been imposed in Ranchi city following sporadic clashes between two communities at Manik Tola area under Doranda police station on Friday night.

Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das visited Hinoo Chowk here and appealed for peace, official sources said.

Keeping vigil

He directed Director General of Police D. K. Pandey to keep a vigil in the wake of the tension.

Ranchi Deputy Commissioner Manoj Kumar said at least 60 people were taken into preventive custody.

Police forces were deployed in strength and the situation was “under control”, he said.-- PTI
