The Child Welfare Committee, a quasi-judicial body, of Khurda District on Saturday directed the police to trace Budhia Singh, the marathon boy, as he was yet to return to the sports hostel after summer vacation.
The CWC also issued notice to the production house of Manoj Bajapai-starrer Budhia Singh — Born to Run , to clarify if it had any knowledge about Budhia’s whereabouts.
It is being suspected that the production house has taken both Budhia and his mother, Sukanti Singh, to Mumbai for promotion of the upcoming film, which is scheduled to be released on August 5.
“I have spoken to an assistant of Subhamitra Sen of Viacom 18 Motion Pictures, which has produced Budhia Singh — Born to Run . He said he had no knowledge about Budhia. Subsequently, we sent a notice to the company asking them to reply within three days,” said Benudhar Senapati, a member of CWC.
