Nutan Thakur to join BJP

November 26, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:44 am IST - Lucknow:

Nutan Thakur, social activist and wife of suspended IPS officer Amitabh Thakur, who is at loggerheads with Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh, on Wednesday said she had decided to join BJP.

“The main reason for my joining politics is that I have understood during my social activities that there is an immense need for support of a strong political party to work more effectively and efficiently for the larger social goals,” she said. Mr Thakur had lodged an FIR against Mr Mulayam Singh for allegedly threatening him. -- PTI
