The Bijnore police have registered a First Information Report against actor and Rashtriya Lok Dal candidate Jaya Prada for violating Section 125 (2) of the Representation of the People Act and Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code by holding a meeting around midnight on Tuesday night, long after electioneering time ended, Superintendent of Police Anis Ahmed Ansari said. The ‘secret meeting’ came to light during police probe into a case of assault filed by Ms. Jaya Prada’s PRO.
According to the FIR, unidentified youth threw stones at her car in Kazipada mohalla, injuring her private security guard. She had allegedly gone to a house there with about two dozen supporters.
The Bulandshahr police have registered a case against Samajwadi Party MLA Bhagwan Sharma alias Guddu Pandit for “spreading hatred between two communities” at a meeting on April 7.
It was alleged that Mr. Sharma urged people to put mud into the graves he had dug in Dibai for BJP leaders Narendra Modi and Kalyan Singh and RLD chief Ajit Singh as they were “responsible for the massacres in Gujarat, Ayodhya and Muzaffarnagar respectively.”
