The Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) has asked for six months time to approach the DDA with regard to changing the land use category of the Millennium Bus Depot to use it for parking buses. The bus depot was constructed at a cost of Rs.60 crore on the Yamuna river for the 2010 Commonwealth Games.

The DTC made the plea in an ongoing case in the Delhi High Court over the week-end. A Division Bench comprising Chief Justice G. Rohini and Justice Jayant Nath has now issued notice to the DDA and sought a reply by September 14. The DTC submitted that it required more space to add CNG buses to its fleet, in compliance with the directions of the National Green Tribunal.
