Councillor’s daughter hangs herself

A 20-year-old girl committed suicide by hanging herself in Kalyanpur here, leaving a suicide note in which she said family discord was the reason for her taking the extreme step.

The deceased girl was a second-year BA student and daughter of Beena Kushwaha, a councillor from Maswanpur area, according to Santosh Singh, SHO, Kalyanpur.

Police were informed by the family members in the morning when Supriya was found dead in her room. The body has been sent for post-mortem.

According to colony residents, the girl committed suicide as the family members disapproved of her relationship with a youth of a different caste. - PTI
