A woman axed her husband to death when the latter allegedly tried to outrage the modesty of their teenage daughter in Kumrar village of Bihar’s Katihar district, police said on Monday.

The incident took place on Sunday night when Sunil Rishi (42) allegedly tried to outrage the modesty of his 14-year-old daughter by gagging her mouth, ignoring the protests by his wife Ghuro Devi and son Suman, police said.

Ghuro Devi then hit on the neck and face of her husband with the axe several times, which led to his death on the spot. She later surrendered at the Kadwa police station and confessed to her crime, police said.
