Bharatiya Janata Party’s K. Surendran, who lost the Manjeswaram Assembly constituency by a thin margin of 89 votes, on Friday alleged that large-scale bogus voting and cross-voting ensured his defeat in the constituency.
“A detailed examination of the voters’ list will prove that the UDF had facilitated large-scale bogus voting while the LDF resorted to cross-voting to ensure the BJP’s defeat,” he told The Hindu .
“The traditional LDF votes from Enmakaje and Puthige panchayats went in favour of the IUML candidate. The UDF facilitated bogus voting, at Mangalpady, Manjeswaram, Puthige and Vorkady panchayats,” he alleged. — Staff Reporter
