Suspected Bodo militants under custody

June 25, 2016 12:00 am | Updated October 18, 2016 02:41 pm IST - KOLLAM:

Two suspected activists of the National Democratic Front of Bodoland who were taken into custody by personnel from the Military Intelligence late in the night on Thursday were handed over to the custody of the Kollam police on Friday.

The two, Satheendra and Kholer, were taken into custody for interrogations for being allegedly involved in the December 2014 Assam violence in which more than 70 people were killed.

Police in a quandary

But after handing over the two to the Kollam police, the personnel from the Military Intelligence left the scene. The Kollam police are now in a quandary about how to go about with the interrogations. The two in custody say that they had been in Kollam since 2013 as labourers much before the Assam violence had taken place.

But it is not known whether they had been to Assam in between.
