Chief Minister Oommen Chandy will inaugurate the public meeting here on August 30 organised in connection with the 161st Sree Narayana Guru Jayanti celebrations.
The function will be presided over by the SNDP Yogam general secretary Vellapally Natesan.
The celebrations at Kollam are being organised by the Kollam SNDP Union in association with the Sree Narayana Trusts. At a press conference here on Wednesday, the union president Mohan Sankar and secretary N. Rajendran said all preparations had been made to make the celebrations a grant event.
The traditional jayanti rally will commence at 5 p.m. from the Sankar’s Hospital complex. The rally will be represented by members from all the 22 SNDP branches under the union and the institutions under the management of the SN Trusts. Floats and other cultural events will make the rally colourful.
