Keltron will implement the estimated Rs.70-lakh solar project on the main campus of the Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit at Kalady, near here.

The varsity Syndicate has included the project among the various initiatives to be undertaken utilising the Rs.2.5-crore assistance, received under the Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA) of the Union Ministry of Human Resource Development. The university was among the four universities in the State eligible to receive assistance under the RUSA. Vice Chancellor M.C. Dileep Kumar said that the solar project will help the university save on electricity charges besides ensuring energy self-sufficiency.

The entire campus will be turned in to a WiFi-enabled campus. The facility, which is now available in certain spots, will be extended across the campus soon.
