Read more and grow, Sub-Collector tells children

The youth in modern times have got a plethora of opportunities before them to easily identify and choose their future and reach the desired heights in life without facing much hurdles, Thiruvalla Sub-Collector Sriram Venkitaraman has said.

Dr. Venkitaraman was interacting with students at SCS Higher Secondary School, Thiruvalla, on Friday.

Face-to-face

The Face-to-Face programme between the Collector and the children was organised by the Information and Public Relations Department as part of Reading Week celebrations.

Daily routine

He said children should find some time daily for reading which could take their imagination to new heights. Dr. Venkitaraman called upon the children not to miss Gandhiji’s famous book My Experiments with Truth, in which he explains how events in his life modelled his character, made him aware of the philosophies, and how strictly he followed them.

Kiran Ram, District Information Officer; C. Manilal, Assistant Editor, Pratheesh D. Mani, Assistant Information Officer; A.V. George, school headmaster; and Susamma Mathew, Mar Thoma schools corporate manager, also spoke.
