‘Ploy to malign Yogam leadership’

September 24, 2016 12:00 am | Updated November 01, 2016 08:39 pm IST - PATHANAMTHITTA:

BDJS president Thushar Vellappally has alleged that the micro finance row was a conspiracy hatched by a group of renegades, with the backing of certain government quarters, to malign the Sree Narayana Dharma Paripalana (SNDP) Yogam leadership.

Mr. Thushar said even those who had raised charges too knew well that diversion of micro finance scheme funds by the Yogam leadership was quite impossible.

The BDJS leader said there were reports on the micro finance scheme fund diversions made by certain Churches and related NGOs. The government owed explanation as to why the police failed to register cases against the Church heads concerned, he said.

He said the transactions made in the micro finance scheme were 100 per cent transparent and 99 per cent of its beneficiaries were a contened lot. However, a few local unit leaders were found to have been guilty of diverting the funds and the Yogam had filed criminal cases against them, he said.
